Submission Policy Overview

by submitting a video you consent to videocan
- 1) retaining a copy on a hard drive,
- 2) uploading a copy to our private Vimeo, and
- 3) making that Vimeo copy available through our catalogue (we won’t share it anywhere else)
videocan will not disseminate or share your videos in any other way than those described above, though we will with your permission maybe share a screenshot on our Instagram

Submission Requirements

the archival video includes the ENTIRE performance
the video file is either a MP4, MOV, WMV, AVI, and FLV [for more information on Vimeo’s recommended formats, click here]
resolution quality may vary—be not ashamed should you have filmed in less than 4K
upload video to WeTransfer or Dropbox, or, if the video is already on a Vimeo or YouTube account, make the video downloadable

Please note: if you choose this option, it is YOUR responsibility to respond to viewing requests in a timely manner to give them the password to your video. If you would prefer for videocan team members to manage requests for viewing, please write "videocan" in the box.

IF OPTIONAL B: If your video is regulated by Union restrictions in Canada, please note that videocan is currently developing an Exemption agreement to make your work available for education use through the archive. Until that Exemption is adopted, works within the archive can still be accessible through privately held passwords.
